I Teach People, Not Golf!
I work closely with students, deciding with them how they want to begin and what they most want to accomplish.Good advice about golf involves consideration of each student's individual physical abilities, strength, skill level, and intensity. It can take time to improve, but by setting goals that each student can reach and focusing on each lesson as the most important way to improve the game, I believe each student can expand their understanding of the game and continue to improve his or her play.
I believe golf is fun, and that becoming a better player can increase the fun, camaraderie and enjoyment that golf offers for a lifetime.
My Teaching Philosophy
We thoroughly explore the dynamics and science of the swing, without an over-involvement in the technical aspects of either the club or body movement. Because the flight of the ball is the end result, we work toward an understanding of the relationship among the pivot, the swing and the ball's eventual flight.
Learning golf is playing golf, and I am committed to on-course instruction as an integral part of developing the mental agility and focus that helps play toward strengths and against any weakness.
Using video taping helps students remove the guesswork from their progress. A frame-by-frame analysis offers both instructor and student a way to specifically evaluate play, and can help the student reach an understanding of what is needed to improve their game.
Above all, teaching is the means to the end - more fun on the course.
